Essex Cycling App app for iPhone and iPad

Essex Cycling App is an activity tracking tool for cyclists that enables the public to record data related to their cycling activities. The app stores anonymised cycling activity information from the users who choose to install the application. The collected data will be used for transport planning purposes related to cycling infrastructure in order to make cycling in Essex safer and more attractive.

By downloading or using the app, these terms will automatically apply to you – you should make sure therefore that you read them carefully before using the app.

To use the services available on the app, you must complete the membership registration form. You agree: (a) to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Site’s registration form (“Profile”) and (b) to maintain and promptly update the User Data to keep it accurate and current (c) to use the app to record cycling trips only and not any other kind of trips (e.g. walking, running etc.) (d) that data from Essex Cycling app may be used to provide transport planning services.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password associated with your account and for restricting access to your password and to your computer while logged into the app. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

We endeavour to use reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to your account. We cannot, however, guarantee absolute security of your account, your content or the personal information you provide, and we cannot promise that our security measures will prevent third-party “hackers” from illegally accessing the app or its contents. You agree to immediately notify Essex Cycling App of any unauthorized use or your account or password, or any other breach of security, and to accept all risks of unauthorised access to the User Data and any other information you provide to the app.

At some point we may wish to update the app and youll need to download the updates if you want to keep using the app. However You agree to update the application when offered to you. We may also wish to stop providing the app, and may terminate use of it at any time without giving notice of termination to you.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
